Beaufort is a wonderful place to retire. Between the waterways for sailing, the golf courses to work on your swing, the Arts Council, the Garden Clubs and all our Volunteer Services, you will never have a chance to become bored. Most of our retirees live in traditional neighborhoods, although there is a 55 and older community in the southern part of the county. A large majority of our retirees live in golfing communities, Royal Pines CC, Pleasant Point Plantation, Cat Island, Dataw Island, Fripp Island. Some want the beach like Harbor Island and Fripp Island provide, and some just want to be close to town near our beautiful historic district.
